Good vid. I think I've got multiple simultaneous problems. Shops says I've got a hole in pump and this design must have a timing belt at same time so it's $1400 but I don't have it. Also getting bubbles in overflow but only sometimes. Also have a bad leak at bottom of overflow somewhere because when I put fluid in there it just pours out of the bottom. I'm in a super jam, both living in my car and using it for delivery so I can't earn money 4 the repairs. I'm hoping one of these vids on overflow repair will slow the leak enough to let me work and earn money 4 the main repair. ☹️ I've tried several stop leaks including the expensive head sealer. The worst of it is from the overflow. I think the sealers may have actually helped some with the other leak as it's slower.

Alas. I didn't read the comments in time. That retaining ring had corroded away, and of course that bolt fell into the bottomless abyss. Anyone have any idea what specific size it was? (And dang, that bold was HARD to get to and covered in so much corrosion on my wife's car.) Anyway, battery is in place, car is working, but the battery hold-down frame/bolt is not in place. Thanks!!!

I got the job done in about an hour. Hardest part is taking out the housing module and unplugging the wires. First one took about 35 min to figure out, 2nd one took 20 min ignoring to unplug the connector (stuck, no nails or tools to disconnect) and turning the housing module to focus on the socket. It is a bit tight on space, yet still doable. It feels like the set up is designed to be mildly inconvenient enough to where someone with a lower level of discipline, patience, or confidence (general public like myself) would hit enough mental failure walls to delegate the work to a repair/maintenance shop and pay more for their labor. This video did it's purpose and more by giving me more reassurance and confidence in myself. Thank you.

Can you give me the steps to follow to fix my 1995 E38. Problem is exactly the opposite of yours. Dial indicators are bouncing around everywhere and all over the place. Transmission Failsafe Prog. is on, don’t know why. Check Engine light is on. I have scanned it, ALL GOOD but it won’t let me turn off the Check Engine light. No codes.
